The shop
A tiny shop down a back street, open since 1966. Nobody pawns gold or watches here. They pawn memories.
The bell rings, someone walks in and lays a memory on the counter: a first kiss, a holiday morning, the last thing a father said. What it's worth is up to you.
What's inside
You name the price
Type your own offer. They counter, and their patience wears thinner every round. Everyone haggles differently.
A promise and a date
"I'll be back in three days," they say. Some really do return and pay you back with interest. Some never come.
The man who comes with the fog
Every night Bay Sis drops by and offers to buy what's on your shelves. The money is good. The question is how much you're willing to let go.
Your conscience keeps accounts too
Rent goes up every week. Filling the till is easy. Keeping your conscience is not.
A thousand lives, one counter
Over 80 hand-written characters and more than 3,500 different customers, each with their own face and their own memory.
You write the ending
Bankruptcy, the fog, or a quiet retirement: you decide how the shop closes.
Memories don't disappear. They just change hands.
